Chester Township was the center of a series of serious accidents recently, according to NewJerseyHills.com. The accidents included:
- Two women, who were injured when one failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was hit by a northbound vehicle on Route 206 during morning rush hour. Both drivers were transported to Morristown Medical Center following the crash.
- Two vehicles collided on Route 206 just after 5 p.m. when one driver failed to yield when entering the roadway. Another driver was unable to avoid the car, and the two vehicles collided. One of the drivers was cited and was also transported to an area hospital for treatment.
- A single-motorcycle accident that resulted in injuries to the rider. The accident was allegedly caused when the kickstand on the antique 1936 Indian came down while the bike was in motion. The rider lost control and was transported after the accident to the hospital by the Chester Volunteer First Aid Squad.
In addition, NewJerseyHills.com reports that local police may have prevented other other accidents by stopping drivers who were under the influence. In both reported cases, officers pulled the vehicles over for traffic violations and then found the drivers to be in possession of drugs.
