Here at Ginarte Gonzalez and Winograd we are proud of our long and consistent history of supporting the local community through various firm wide events. I’m sure you remember our numerous 2013 events such as the Walk for Breast Cancer, Thanksgiving Food Drive, and Toys for Tots. We’re off to a great start in 2014!
The first of these events for 2014 will be our participation in National Wear Red Day which will take place on Friday, February 14, 2014. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this campaign, National Wear Red Day was started by the American Heart Association to raise awareness to Heart disease as it is the No. 1 killer of women in the United States, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined. For more than 10 years, the American Heart Association has sponsored National Wear Red Day® to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease in women.
In 2003, the American Heart Association and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute took action against a disease that was claiming the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year – a disease that women weren’t paying attention to. A disease they truly believed, and many still believe to this day, affects more men than women.
Stemming from that action, National Wear Red Day was born. It’s held on the first Friday in February every year to raise awareness about heart disease being the No. 1 killer of women.
Be sure to join the employees of Ginarte in wearing red on Valentine’s Day, check out or photos that will be uploaded to our Facebook page, and stay healthy.
