Welcome to another edition of Meet the Attorney! This time, we are introducing attorney Daniel L. Maisel, Esq.. Mr. Maisel attended the George Washington University for his undergraduate studies, and went on to study law at the Benjamin Nathan Cardozo School of Law.
Mr. Maisel’s father, Lawrence Maisel, spent over 40 years as an Attorney representing Unions and injured workers in New Jersey. He, therefore, grew up in an environment that gave him access to the practice of law, and of a dedication to help others through difficult times. He states, “I always knew that I was going to pursue a career in Litigation, and after a 4 year stint as an Assistant Prosecutor for Essex County, New Jersey, I decided to pursue a civil trial career path.”
Mr. Maisel’s upbringing has made him the dedicated attorney he is today. He learned to be a compassionate attorney, and a hardworking man. When asked if there was any personal, public, or professional figure that he admires, he replied, “Not to be repetitive, but again my father. By the time he was 21 years old he had already completed 35 missions as a B-17 Navigator for the Army Air Corp. and then came home and completed his education at the University of Michigan and then NYU Law School. His entire career was spent working tirelessly for his clients. I learned a valuable lesson to treat your clients with the respect they deserve, regardless of their place in life or education level. He is the man I most admire and strive to be like.”
The part of the profession that he finds most rewarding is when he gets a good result for a client, either at trial or settlement; he finds it to be the most rewarding to share that moment with them. He adds, “I very much enjoy meeting with our clients, and can always learn from them if you pay attention. My attitude does not change based on what the outcome may be, although if there are real difficult issues I try as hard as possible to get a favorable result.”
It is a continuous battle to make sure that our clients are getting everything they deserve regarding their case, be it medical treatment, temporary benefits or an appropriate permanency award. However, when asked if he has ever experienced a moment in his profession that makes him feel as if he is doing exactly what he was meant to do, Mr. Maisel replied, “I would say that sometimes after a satisfying day on the job I feel this way upon reflection on the way home.” Being able to achieve great success to fulfill our clients’ needs is Mr. Maisel’s priority, and that’s one of the many reasons we are proud to have him a part of the Ginarte Law family.
