Travel Safely
Experts have reported that millions of people will be on the roads over the Fourth of July weekend. This can cause traffic jams, congestion, and the rise in the possibly of traffic accidents. When driving use caution when passing through work zones to mind, not only the people who are working, but other motorists that are traveling as well. Ensure that all windows and vehicle lights are cleaned and you are able to use them to help you see during both day and night driving.
Be mindful of the Grill
Once you have arrived at your weekend destination, you may decide to begin grilling some hamburgers and hot dogs. There are also some precautions to take when your cooking delicious food. Whether you are using a charcoal or gas grill always make sure you or someone you are with is supervising the grill when it is in use. DO NOT use a grill indoors or in any enclosed area. Make sure that the grill is out in the open away from anything that might be flammable or could become damaged if near direct heat.
Be Safe On The Water
If you plan to go swimming or go on a boat ride being careful in the water is very important. Before leaving the shore, make sure to review safe boating practices as the waterways can be crowded during this holiday weekend. Also, make sure there are enough life preservers on the boat for the number of guests that are making the boat trip with you.
Stay Hydrated
Most people will spend the holiday weekend outside, enjoying the sun and other activities. Drink plenty of fluids to make sure you decrease your chance of suffering from heat-related illness. Drink plenty of water while playing sports outdoors or any other strenuous activity.
Keep Children Safe From Fires & Explosives
Often time’s people like to enjoy a nice campfire or watch fireworks at night to end the Fourth of July celebration. Make sure to keep children safe from open fires and keep any explosives or items that can be extremely flammable out of their hands. Severe injuries could occur if children are not protected from these items.
