Singer’s Death Puts Focus on Construction Site Injuries
The front man for a popular New York Irish rock band died recently after receiving a blow to the head while working his day job in construction. The singer, songwriter and guitar player for the band Mickey Finns was apparently hit in the head while at work January 9. Instead of seeking immediate medical attention, the singer went home where he died later that night. The exact circumstances surrounding the construction accident were not immediately clear. Construction Workers Injured in Ithaca Accident
Two construction workers were injured in a construction accident this month in Ithaca, New York. According to news reports, construction workers were working on the site where a new Fairfield Inn is being built along Elmira Road on the morning of January 5 when the accident occurred. Two construction workers fell more than 30 feet. One of the workers was flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse while the other was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania.
